To what extent does Propp's character theory fit The Lego Movie poster campaign (5).

The Lego Movie poster campaign can fully fit with Propp's character theory as its is obvious that Lord Business is the villain from the poster. In the Lord Business poster he has red hair connoting evil as well as the sky not being shown in the poster which can infer he's not nice.
However, the Lego Movie poster campaign can also not fit Popp's character theory as Wyldstyle is shown as not a typical 'princess' type of character of which she is meant to be. In the poster she has black, pink and blue hair representing emo as well as looking strong instead of weak which is the normal stereotype of women and the 'princess' Propp theory character role.

Analyse how genre codes have been used in The Lego Movie poster campaign to appeal to a family audience. [10] You MUST refer to the main poster and at least one characters poster.

Genre codes have been used in The Lego Movie poster campaign to appeal to family audiences as in the main poster it is explisitly clear that there is clearly something going on behind the characters to make them run away with shocked facial expressions which highlights how it is an action/adventure film which appeal to a family audience as some of the characters being shown are Batman and Wonder women  of whom older and younger generations would be familiar with them and their heroic nature.

Another way genre codes have been used in The Lego Movie campaign is thought the poster of Emmet. The poster of Emmet clearly shows his facial expressions which seem shocked yet connote comedy as he doesn't look threatened yet the way his mouth is open so wide may be humorous for children. This appeal to a family audience as the children would see the comedy and then want to watch it while the parents would cleary see Chris Pratt's name at the top and because he is a famous actor and have been in many films the parents would be interested in watching.

Another way genre codes have been used in The Lego Movie is thought the intertextuality in the main poster which initially appeals to family audience. The intertextuality comes from the the film "Independence Day" from the colour platte and the mass destruction in both posters. The older generation taking their children to see the film would be aware of the film "Independence Day" thus would be appealed as well as having the nostalgia of themselves playing with Lego as a child.
Also the intertextuality of Catwomen for the Wyldstyle poster will attract the children as she is seen as a hero in a commonly known film to children yet also the older generation as Catwomen would be familiar to them.
