2 Analyse how far the extract is stereotypical to gender.
In your answer you must:

·      Analyse aspects of the extract using examples to support your analysis
·      Judge how far these aspects are stereotypical to gender.

The extract is stereotypical to gender because both police officers and the detective displayed in the specific scene are males, Jake Ryan and Felix. The stereotype of men are that they are masculine so typically a job that if overpopulated with men is the police so this conforms to the stereotype of men.  Also, when Jake and Ryan are a the hospital looking after Nathan it is revealed that the hospital receptionist is a female which conforms with the stereotype of females as they are viewed as being weaker than men so they typically have pink- collar jobs, including being a receptionist, thus conforming to the stereotype of females. Furthermore, when the detective was speaking to the vividly emotional women his body language and the way they were positioned addressed the view of women compared to men such as how the women is sitting and the man is standing above her illustrates how he is more dominant than her, conforming to the stereotype that men are more powerful than women. As well as, the fact the women was extremely emotional further conforms to the stereotype that women are weak and emotional.
Overall, it is clear that the extract is extremely stereotypical based on the jobs being shown.

  1. Your first response (Q2) has been improved HUGELY! In your last sentence, don't forget to directly refer to the question. You've said it's extremely stereotypical, but you need to say to gender.

    Don't forget to improve Q3.
